Doesn't look fatal to me. Something was "bugging" him though. Does a cute little dance, I like that. Make him do it again.

Hmm, have you had him tested by a phychologist to make sure he's not schizophrenic? He may have been kicking at the voices in his head...

I vote that the mouse in the ear explains the voices in the head, which caused that reaction, a simple cat upgrade, or install Barn Cat 2 should solve you problems.
