So, my mare is a big ID. I have owned her for a month and a few weeks and she has been a pleasure to own... however! In the first week of owning her she came in almost every day except once... I didnt do anything differently she just DID NOT want to come in and she would gallop from one end to the other over and over again so I would be walking about like a headless chicken trying to find some way of either cornering her or to attract her to come to me or generally do ANYTHING to get her in. Eventually I got her on this day and the rest of the week and the next week was fine. I then went on holiday for a week leaving her in the hands of two girls at the yard who would do her for half a week each. She was just aweful.
She would NOT come in. She would run about for 20 minutes to an hour. Would not come for food, treats, hay nothing.
When I came back off holiday... I walked into field and she came straight in for a good week or two. She has not come in for me about 4 times since owning her which is very annoying when im in a hurry to get her done for the day.
NOW the real problem is that the yard are now bringing her in and she came in the first two days but now she wont come in for them either! Its not a case of I can just leave her out she has to be bought in as its the yard rules etc. and I do not want to move or cause them any hastle. She comes in for me 95% of the time... but will only come in 10% of the time for everyone else?! Why is this!
What can I do with her to make this better... im going to try doing some monty roberts join up and have got a dually head collar I wil start using soon. Anything else? They have tried food, treats, hay, walking in a zig zag or not making eye contact (this works for me but not them). What can I do? :o
Thanks - Hollie
