My mare HATES the flies...

My horse absolutely HATES flies, and any kind of bug, and when I ride (especially in the evenings), she's constantly trying to rub on the fence and she's kicking up trying to get bugs off and she just doesn't focus on what I'm trying to get her to do, she just totally loses focus when the bugs are bugging her. And that's even with spraying her with fly spray before we ride. They still bug her like crazy!
Any suggestions?
Or anyone know of really strong bug spray?

Have you tried riding with a Cashel quiet ride fly mask?

Try buying a concentrate and mixing it at the strongest mixture listed on the label. Bugs are a constant problem here with the heat and humidity in the summer. Also, try wiping it on with a rag instead of spraying. I've found you get better coverage (though you do use more).

Get some pure Neem Oil from the internet.
Mix a teaspoon of Neem with a teaspoon of shampoo, add 2 pints of hot water and sponge the horse all over with the mix. That will keep the flies away better than anything on the market. It is safe too as it is all natural.
