Most of you probably don't know, but I recently sold my mare Rosie as I was having continuing lameness problems with her, and she was best suited as a companion horse, and went to a nice and suitable home.
I was planning to save and purchase some sort of greenish Quarter Horse but something else came up. A friend of mine (where my horse is kept) had recently bought two Thoroughbreds from the sales for "meat money", which were going to be for breeding. Being bored I started working with one of them and then of course 'fell' for her. So now she's mine!
She was, and still is, rather unknown. Branded and in the studbook, but unnamed. However, I did a lot of ground work and then rode her lightly and she seems quiet and broken, although very green. She doesn't have any marks or scars to suggest injury but she is rather lazy and slow, even in the paddock, so I'm guessing that's why she never raced!
Her name is Harm (Harmony) - although I might change that. She's a rising five year old, 15.3 hands, bay and very sweet natured. Right now I'm trying to feed her up (which isn't easy in the middle of winter) and she seems to be slowly putting on weight. She's doesn't have especially great conformation or talent but she seems sound, well tempered and should make a good pleasure/all rounder with work (I hope)
Everything is great so far - except trying to find a western saddle to fit! Here are a few pics
