My new horse!

So, I recently purchased this adorable black gelding, about 16 hands high, not registered but we think he's at least mostly Quarter Horse. I ride English, Western, bareback, anything you throw at me, and he's a well-trained Western horse. His name is Prince, but we're looking for a new name for him (I'll be posting pictures soon and maybe someone will have a good name for him!). I'm thinking of calling him Bear.

Anyways, I visited him twice, rode him, liked him a lot, so we bought him to half-own with my trainer. Two- four times a week, my trainer will ride him or use him in lessons, and on weekends and school holidays, I get to work with him. I have a Western saddle, pad and bridle, a grooming kit, all that jazz, for him, and I just ordered an English saddle, girth, bridle, etc. online for when we start slowly adding English riding to his repetoire. I have a job to pay for all his expenses, and a savings fund for emergencies. I've had his feet and teeth done, he's dewormed, UTD on vaccines, and my vet has given him a clean bill of health.

My question is, what do I do now?? He's my first horse, I love him to pieces, but I'm not sure what to do! What are the first things that you did with your new horses after they were settled into their new homes?

Visit visit-bring carrots/apples-find the "itchys". So that he doesn't think of you as one of a crowd, you're the "nice person"
A name will come after you get to know him better.

Definitely agree, spend way more time with him, and of course ride! Teach him fun tricks, but make sure you let the trainer know what his cues are, so some kid doesn't accidentally say the word, and he drops into a roll or something.

When I got my first horse, I walked him all over the property, and I would stop and let him graze with a lead attached, and I would groom him outside in the sun!
My Horse loves that
