So, I have a wonderful, and very difficult, new job as the temporary BM on Sundays when the real Barn Manager has off. I run the barn all day from 6:30 in the morning and the first feeding, to 4:30 in the afternoon after the horses get dinner. Sound like fun? 20 something stalls to do, 20 something horses to turn in and out at various times during the day, 20 something water buckets to fill and horses to love on. I'm SUPER excited!
It's going to be really hot (Florida. Summer. You get it), and a really tiring day, but so perfect for me. :] I work with horses so much better than people. And although it'll be harder since I'm doing the whole day alone, it's also better because I can do things my way. So, got any words of wisdom for me? Ha ha.
There are a few trouble making horses, when turning in and out but I pretty much know them all and know what to expect from them. I'm not in any way unsure around horse but at the same time, know when I'm over horsed and to get some assistance. I think I'm well prepared for this job. We'll see. I start next Sunday. The real BM is going to be out there that day, at least in the morning, to help me learn the routine and how everything goes and than I'm on my own.
