ND rodeo queen horse

Ok so my wonderful man and I went to the PRCA rodeo here in Bismarck last Saturday night and I noticed something really cool about the ND Rodeo queen and teh horse she rode. She was riding the horse without a bridle, using her body to control him and not a bridle, the horse simply had a small rope with reins attached in his mouth, but no headstall...interesting for a rodeo I thought. Needless to say, I was impressed. When I pointed it out to my man he looked absolutely astonished as if it was crazy! Just thought it would be cool to share with you all because it usually isn't something you see at a rodeo

You have to learn how to fall before you can learn how to ride~

She may have been using an "indian bridle", which are typically pretty severe. I'm not sure though since there are no pictures and you said she was using just a rope that attached to the horse's mouth, without a headstall.

Its nice that she could control the horse via her body though.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Yes, its very cool to see; however, I'm concerned that this is becoming a trend as you hear about it more and more (not just at rodeos). I'm worried that less then stellar riders will be trying this and end up getting hurt.

This is what happens when you have democrats in office

yes it was the "indian bridle" you suggested Copperhead, but thankfully she wasnt using it in a severe manner, she was using it with the reins mostly left slack the entire time. it was nice to see a calm patient rodeo horse
