Im wondering about the same thing too. Why do you want to sweat out your horse's neck? I saw the neck wraps in a horse catalog and was wondering why you would use them.

I'm just guessing but I've seen Quarter horses that are going to show halter class with neck sweating collars on made of neoprene. They want a long slim neck in that class of show. I'm sure someone else will have a more intellegent answer
I wouldn't use it unless you plan on showing halter class. If someone gave it to you it's probably old, pitch it.

Quarter Horse is the only ones I've seen with neck sweats on. They go right behind the jowel/jaw. I guess maybe QH's are prone to double chins?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe the gel goes on the neck before the neck sweat is placed around the neck. As the horse sweats it gets rid of fat cells or something like that. Its supposed to firm up the neck, making it appear more muscular, less flabby. I've yet to meet anyone who swears by them.
