Need Help Catching Mini Horses

Hope someone can help.My neighbors three minis are on the run for the pasts 5 days. We have tried everything possible to get. Were trying to find someone that could tranquilize them now because the sheriff is going to shoot them soon if not caught .If anyone knows of someone by the central Wisconsin area that could help please let me know. I have tried local vets and they dont want to. My neighbor doesnt want to tranquilize, but were running out of options.

Where are they loose? In woods? Near main roads? In a housing complex? How large of an area?

This may or may not work depending on the area and what -not hense the earlier questions.
Has anyone tried setting up round pen panels in a sort of "corral" and tried herding them into it? Put hay/feed in the corral and have someone wait till they go in there and then come out and shut the gate.
Endiku likes this.

If y'all can get them near a fence, have a rope tied to it but Layed on the ground so they can't see it. As they do towards it be ready to pull it up and catch their neck and quickly wrap the rope around the horses neck so it's caught. Hard to explain but I have used this on many hard to catch horses.

And by rope I mean a very long oneso you can stand back out of the way so they think you're not going to catch them

We live in a very wood area. They are avoiding her property because people just wont stay away. There coming by all day long trying to help or yell about the loose horses. It's been 5 days now. There very afraid. There's a somewhat of a major highway near by they been seen standing in the middle of the road. They do stay about in a 5 mile radius of her house. When we try to get them to come to us something has so far always spooked them and they run back into the woods. There's to adult females and a six month old colt. They stay together. We don't want to have them shot or them cause an accident. Times kind of running out.If the sheriff doesn't shoot them, they will for sure get shot next weekend when gun-deer starts.
