I know it is and that is why it is bothering me so bad. I am just waiting to hear about it. I am truly concerned, and even talked to my mother in law about it to see if she would be able to talk them out of it.NO LUCK. I know someone will end up getting hurt, then they will tell everyone its a bad animal, which you cannot say just because its untrained.

Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction.

I would definitely stay as far away as possible from that situation. Mainly because when the "pony" (LOL) dies or seriously hurts them when they are "gelding" it, and when their child gets seriously hurt when they put him on this beast, THEY CAN'T BLAME YOU!! Contact the humane society for your area, even if it's just to give a heads up. If you don't want to contact them directly, maybe tell your vet. Also consider contacting child protection about them endangering a handicapped child. Best of luck to you, I understand how you feel about the family issue, and your concerns. Just remember the more you are involved with this, when it goes bad, the more they will blame you.

Horses are the guarding angels of the soul.

HOLY CRAP IS RIGHT!!!!! Somebody is going to get hurt - I hope it isn't that little boy. Too bad you can't talk some sense into them! I would probably opt to stay out of that whole situation. If something were to go wrong, you would most likely get the blame.

I hate to say this, but you will probably be to blame no matter what. If you don't help and someone gets hurt, it'll be your fault for not helping. If you do try to help and someone gets hurt, it will be your fault too! Not to mention the poor mule who is now in the hands of clueless owners and will be blamed for everything he does. I would DEFINATELY call animal control and give them a head's up. I would also consider finding your local theraputic center and see if someone from there would be willing to step in to offer them some advice.

Smart people listen. Not so smart people think they do not need to hear what others have to say.
