    need some advice(long)

Hii im new to this fourm thing. I need some advice I have a problem. I have a unatruly high fear of everything. I love horses they are my life but im terified to ride I've canterd and it didnt bother me at all I have big confedence problems. I don't own a horse and I only get to ride once a year I love it but it terrifies me. I belive its the arena that scares me, on trail rides I am not scared at all but in the arena I get so scared. I've never fallen off I've never been kicked. My little brother who has no real intrest in horses does better then me with the fear thing. Im about to start taking lessons at a nearby stables and im going to tell my instuctor about it but id like to see if any of you can offer any help. Anything will be useful thankks.

Ive neverchad a fear like this but if I'm undestsnding you correctly, you aren't afraid of the horse but you are afraid of contained spaces right? Kind of sounds like you nay be claustrophobic.

You could try a taking a natural 'calming' supplement like Rescue Remedy. It might take the edge off of your anxiety.

I think it's great that you will take lessons soon, and that you plan on being honest with your instructor and tell her about your fear. I dont' believe in denying fear.
You know, it's just one of those things that you have to go through to get out of. All I can say is that in the beginning of riding, like you are, it IS scary. But, it will get less scary, and it will get less scary really fast. Once you ride in the arena it will get easier each time.
Let us know how your lessons go, and good luck and keep smiling!
