    New Colt!

So the other day I happened to run into my great uncle. He is slowly trying to sell all of his horses because he's getting older and it's getting hard for him to take care of them. Well he asked me if I wanted a horse! I said "Yeah, if it's free" because I didn't really want to buy another one. He said "Yeah, you can have him" I just asked what was wrong with it and he said nothing was wrong with him. So I went to look at him today and I loved him! There really isn't anything wrong with him besides he needs his feet trimmed.
    A little about him:
He was born May 17, 2010
    Sorrel Stallion
    Registered AQHA
He has Peppy San Badger on top and High Brow Hickory on bottom. I can't remember any of the other names.

I might go pick him up next week sometime. I'm so excited! I'll make sure to take tons of pictures!

I would get a full PPE, even on a free horse. Good luck with him, though!

Soooo I brought my new colt home last night...and today it snowed, so I can't even go see him!!! Ugh! Anyways, I got his papers and looked up further back on his pedigree and liked what I saw. He has good names on his papers, and some great ones further back. I'll post a link so you all can see them. Hopefully it'll clear up some today and I can go see him and get some pictures.

I wouldn't. Not in this case. If it is someone I know, I wouldn't bother. Shoot, I didn't get one on the last one I bought! Just decided to take my chances and trust my gut. I have pretty mixed feelings about PPE's anyway. Too many red herrings. I prefer to look at the horse. However, I am also a nurse, and instead of looking at the computer, I prefer to look at the patient, too, which is not as popular anymore.

Here are some pictures of my beautiful boy. He has a swollen back foot because he got cut a few months ago, but it doesn't bother him at all. I know he needs to see the farrier, so no need to remind me. I am going to schedule him for next week hopefully after it dries up and you can actually drive down to the barn.
Here are some pictures from his first full day home. He was having a grand time. :) Enjoy!
Oh! I also need name suggestions! We were thinking of Red, but I'm not sure. We were also thinking about Copper since he's a copper color. But feel free to throw names at me!

Thanks! I'll post more pictures later this afternoon. We are going to see the horses now, and it's not snowing, so the pictures should turn out better.
