New horse and name suggestions

I got a horse yesterday! He's a 3yo Standardbred who has been off the track for a month-ish. He's a bay with only a tiny white on one of his feet. I have attached a picture of him (Photobucket was being bad).

Anyway his old name was Kerry, but I don't really like that so I want a new name for him. His race name was Gambling Goanna, his sire's name was Aces n Sevens and his dams name was Unspoiled.

I was thinking maybe Jasper? But it doesn't seem to suit him, and its an awfully common horse name around these parts. Some ideas would be nice... I just want a name that has an "ie" sound, or you can shorten it to an "ie" sound. Like Jack could be Jackie, because I like to use "ie" ending names.

He looks like a Floyd to me or Remi (like Remington)
I know there not "all" ie but these are what he looks like to me (people tell me I seem to pick odd or simple names)

Smudge
Carlos
Robbie
Alfie
Ollie
Max or Maxie
Wylie (this is one of my faves it means clever)
Todd (i called my dog this but it always seemed to end up being Toddy he had the brains of a brick)

I don't know, to me "Goanna" sounds like a mare's name. I like Maxie.

What about Samson? And Sammie or Sonny for short?

I looked at his picture for a long time. I'm thinking maybe--
