New horse! Names, colour for chestnut, transport etc.

I've always heard it's bad luck to change a horse's name too, and I'm from the US, but I suppose it's just superstition...

I've heard its bad luck too.

But its superstition. Such as "chestnut mare, beware" which I've already broken. And the whole "four white feet, pass them by" or something, as four white feet are meant to be bad. So I'm already breaking a few, may as well go all the way!

I don't think she knows her name anyway.

Two mares at work are chestnut, and they are both crazy But I don't believe the whole chestnut mare thing. Just depends.

I've never heard of the thing about four white socks? What's that all about?

Hunter green and navy blue are really nice on chestnuts if you are looking for classic colours. For more fun colours my favourite is teal or turquoise on chestnuts. You mentioned royal blue, I think a nice bright royal blue would look nice on her as well.

So I got her!

It was quite fun. She got on really well, and traveled well, and we got home safely! She's locked up overnight, but I managed to get the farrier booked for tomorrow morning even though it's a public holiday because her feet really need to be done! Otherwise she seems quite happy already with her hay and such. I didn't have any rugs that fit her, but because she's fairly confined she's wearing one slightly too big so hopefully that will be okay until Thursday, when I can buy more rugs!

I'm pretty excited.
