    Question New Horses!

    Hello Everyone!

The two beautiful geldings pictured below are coming to live with me on Saturday!

We bought a small horse farm with three paddocks and a barn last year. I'm thrilled to have these horses but I'm a bit nervous.

They have been pasture mates for five years and get along very, very well.

Any suggestions as to how I can make the break-in to a new barn easier for them? They will be the only two horses on our property.

Thank you so much for any and all advice!

    Scarlett

Congradulations! Very nice looking horses. As far as getting them use to a new place, I would just walk them around in the pasture for a few minutes and then turn them loose and keep a eye on them.

Thanks, Brumby! That's what I had planned on doing with them. I'm very glad that they have each other. And I'm EXTREMELY glad that I have both of them!!!

Congrats! Horses actually settle in very quickly on their own! I can't wait to see some better pictures of them!

Geez, I'm so excited!!!! I think I'm far more excited than my 11 year old daughter!

I do hope they settle in alright. I took off tomorrow to help my hubby fix some fences and I will be off on Monday just to spend it with "The Boys". *hearts*

Congrats! New horses are always exciting. ;D
Just keep and eye on them and make sure they're not too stressed out. They should settle in just fine, especially since they have each other for company. And I'd wait about 2 weeks before you start riding them. Let them get to know you and establish a bond before asking anything of them. Best of luck!
