The New Ladies have arrived..

Obsidian Arabians would like to officially announce the fortunate acquisition of three lovely mares from Julie Hanvold of Willowspring Arabians, who has retired from breeding. I am thrilled to be entrusted with the care and future of her hand selected prizaed mares, and will endeavor to not only forge ahead with my plans for breeding and showing, but also incorporate her many years of knowledge and time spent dedicated to producing Arabians with intellect, gentleness, grace, beauty, sound minds, and solid conformation. It is a true honor to have such a veritable “essence” of such a great Lady’s life’s work…
It is my great honor to present the following mares, formerly of Willowspring Arabians:

BA Chevelle: Double Padron top and bottom:
Ba Chevelle Arabian

Echo Empress: Echo Magnifficoo daughter:

Gold N Garbo- Versaci G-Daughter and daughter of Golden Ecstasy:

They are settling in and their training begins soon..

More exciting news to come... ;)

I have a question, which might sound ridiculous... but here goes:

Do Arabs not grow a mane all the way to their forelock? It seems in these pictures and in many other's I have seen that Arabs seem to missing the upper most part of their mane.

I am NOT an Arab type person, obviously.

Freely admitting Arabian breed ignorance, does Echo Empress have Marwari blood in her lines? I say that because of the curve of her ears.... They are all very beautiful, congrats!!

Sarah,
Yes they do, but it considered desirable, especially if one shows an Arab, to clip a bit to show off the neck..

Good question..
Yes- her ears really struck me as well..very curvy and tippy, but no- I don't believe she does. Some Arabs just have very small, tippy ears.. very desirable as mares tend to have larger ears than males..

Thank you- I'm very proud to have an Echo daughter in my barn!
