Bay and Brown are both caused by the Agouti gene, but slightly different versions of them. Many times a light brown horse looks just like a regular old bay horse, but the distinguishing spots are the muzzle, flank, and sometimes the elbow. Most of the time the muzzle is a slightly lighter colour rather than dark like a bay's would be.
Jack, your boy would be a light brown also.
