    Is this normal?

Our little boy is 1 week old today. When I feed mama he is right there trying to eat her hay. He will grab some and chew away will this hurt him? Should I be stopping him from eating it?

Absolutely normal He will try hay and grass if they are out. He will also try and eat Mommas food with her as well, so you can get him his own foal feed to let him have some of his own when you feed her.

Thanks for the input I was not sure if it was good for him to do that. I will find him something a bit easier to nibble on. I was shocked to see him dive into that hay when I fed mommy. He is so fun to watch has so much personality already.
