North Dakota Horse Abuse Raid

I saw this in the new today. It looks like someone was horse hoarder. I hope the remaining horses get nursed back to health and find new homes.

If someone already posted this sorry.

What bothers me is that apparently the law went out in Dec? But jacked around until horses were dead? Vet left recommendations?

Please.

Why the wait is what I want to know?

What I don't understand is I just read a story about 2 people saving a baby deer that couldn't walk and raised it until it was going to beable to be released. They are facing 60 days jail time and $2,000 in fines because it is illegal to own deer. And this guys gets POSSIBLE jail time and $2000 for all of that.......

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law... so yes, possible jail time.

It seems like this case is pretty straightforward, so I'd expect he'd be found guilty of at least 99 cases of neglect (for the dead horses), each of which carries up to a year in jail or a $2k fine; in a perfect world he'd also get a conviction for each of the surviving horses, too.
