not returning phone calls *rant

Okay, I know horse people are notorious for not returning phone calls, but this is ridiculous. Who can operate a successful business like this? I know horse world is different from real world, but business is business.

excuse me but I live in the "real world" with my horses!
rude is rude whether it is how people ignore phone messages or how people post on public forums
so my suggestion is perhaps evaluate how you are speaking to people and just maybe they will return your calls and you will have a successful business...cheers for a great day!

Excuse me, but I have been very polite and have done above and beyond for this particluar person and will no longer continue to do the things I have done if it is not appreciate and I cant get a respectful phone call back. Why would you assume that I am leaving rude messages?

Trust me, I know the feeling. I had an awesome coach. I loved her. When people asked me about her for lessons or trainers, I'd give them her email and number, they'd call and she would never return it. When I tried to schedule a lesson I would have to do it a month in advance. It was ridiculous and unprofessional. People wanted to hear buy her horses. There's hundreds of post on her Facebook. And I have called and her inbox has been full. I stayed there one night, turns out she screens her calls.

Live to ride. Ride to live.

written words as well as phone msgs are interpreted by the receiver...for example, reread your original post..written to a lg group of horse lovers from all over the world...it comes across negative towards horse people, in addition to phone msg returns I did not assume anything...I just suggest you step back & look at how you are giving messages

Yes, it just seems to be a trend. I've had many phone calls (not about the same person I first vented about, but just another example) saying "oh I called her 2 or 3 weeks ago and she never got back to me." I am aware some people just can't run a business, and it seems like a lot of horse people have this down fall and do not understand the value of a simple phone call.

I know Im speaking to a range of horse people. This is why Im asking the question. And I am aware it was a negative statement; hence I said it was a rant. I was just hoping someone who have some insight to the reasoning. It can be very frustrating when you are trying to accomplish something and all you need is a 30 sec phone call.

Wetrain, if it's a trainer, they tend to be the worst about returning calls. I found text messages actually work better than calls, for some reason.

Remember, there's usually a reason some people are marvels with animals; they have little to no people skills.

I completely disagree.

I read her to say - she understands horse people are not in the office 9-5 to answer the phone, don't carry the phone on their person if they are riding a green horse or giving a bath . . .

I understand OP.

Trainers are the worst. I just can't understand why they won't return phone calls about sales or lessons (not implying this is my situation, just an example). Then they complain about not being able to sell the horse or having no lessons.
