It is also complete and total hogwash!
"Guidelines set by vets state that riders should weigh less than 10 per cent of the weight of their horse. But researchers from Duchy College in Cornwall found that just 5 per cent of the riders passed the test...Thirty-two per cent weighed more than 15 per cent of the weight of their animal, a level considered to pose a welfare risk."
Don't know what kind of pansy horses they raise in England, but that would suggest Mia needs a rider no more than 90 lbs in weight. Heck, Mia doesn't LIKE small kids! The only time a rider under 130 got on her, she bucked and threw the rider. But she acts happy about my 180 lbs plus 30 lb saddle (23%) gets on...she likes to go do something.
Good thing England doesn't have cowboys...not many 120 lb cowboys to ride those 1200 lb horses...YGBSM!
