I'm not sure it was just an esamit. When you actualy see him he does look young but some times he does not. Also he is still a stud and he doesnt have any of the studdy personality traits. No stallion acts that much like a guelding yash know what I mean? So all I know is he is still young. When the vet comes out I'm sure he will tell me.
He is looking beter already. I bought some nutrina safe choice and I have been building him up on that and I need to power pack him I think.
I have emailed all the local rescues with pics of him and my mom and I are going to go to all the local vets this week and ask if they have seen him before. So we are still on the hunt for his owners.
Definitely, definitely not a yearling. You checked for testes, and they were easy to spot? You want to keep him completely separate from any other horse for quarantine, make sure he doesn't have any bugs.
yes they are visible. I havent been around any young stallions to much so does that mean he is older??? I thought it was diff for each horse?
Also he is the only horse on the property right now. I'm going to worm him on wednesday. I'm not sure how old he is I just guessed based on my past experiences.
I'll admit by far I do not hve much knowledge about horses or breeds but looking at this one I would swear its my horse on there (which it is not). Mine is a four year old standard bred and the look exactly the same right down to the whits dot. So could this possibly be what he is?
I believe the narrow chest is a standy thing. He definantly has the narrow chest. My first guess would have been 6. Either way, I would give it a week for owners to come forward and I would have him gelded. Here is a website that helps people cut down on breeding animals. Stallion To Gelding Support

Well we dont close till the 10th of november so we are going to wait a bit before getting him gelded just so I can be around for the after care a bit more. Also we need to build a smaller pen for him. We only have the 2 big pastures so I dont want him running around.
its funny that you posted that site because thats the one that one of the local rescues sent me. I'm filling out the application right now. :P
The rescue also sent me some other sites that might help with the hernia sugery. I so happy that I can get the help this guy needs.
Well he's gone. The tire tracks came back and he was gone. I really hate people. He needs some one taht can feed him and take care of his feet and geld him but I guess thats not going to happen.
