Old family horse photos

Sorting through my dad's boxes of photos & came across a few old photos of horses on our farm. The first one is of my grandpa & Foxfire, his horse he rode to school. The other two are of my great-grandpa working with a team. If I remember correctly, I was told they crossed Belgians with QH to get a sightly smaller draft cross. Just thought I'd share

Aw, my family has pics like this. I love looking at them, but they are kind of scattered through different houses (my dad's and my grandmother's) and pilfering them to scan them would probably make someone upset!

My grandfather used to drive horses and my grandmother rode horses every sunday. When my dad was young, he used to ride on the gigantic draft horses that our cousins had in Canada on their tobacco farm. My aunt and cousin (who has about 20 years on me) all rode, my cousin rode barrels for a long time.

On my mom's side...well, not quite sure about their history. They are all gone so I can't discuss anything with them. I do know that I found a pair of those old school jodfers where the hips flair out once, and was told it was my grandmother's on my mother's side. So apparently they rode too.
