Gus, our Paint horse, has been running for years he was a cattle ranch pony and was my top barrel horse. We recently found out that his running days are over. He had been having troubles with his feet and ankles for a couple of months and when the farrier came out she explained to us that if we ran him again his ankle would give out on him and there would be no getting him back.

This was disappointing news.
Gus did lose one of his favorite things but has gained another. He is now one of our lesson horses and is loving all the attention from the little kids.
