Opinions on build?

By the looks of her now, what do you think her build will be? My thoughts are tall and slim, but I was also thinking short and stocky? She is a quarter horse about 2 (don't know when her birthdate is, not even the month or season) so I am calling her 2 as of January 1st, but not until spring is she officially 2.

She is about 14.0hh-14.1hh right now. I am asking this because I am a fairly short (5'5") and overweight. I have heard of the rule of 20% bodyweight, but I know that doesn't apply to all horses. Breeze is 1000 lbs right now, and still growing. I am young (15 years old) and I am trying to loose weight and get more fit before I start riding her.

So my question is, what do you think she will be? Short and stocky, or tall and slim? I also know it can change, but what are your thoughts now?

I included a picture of me with Breeze in there too (although its not that great) Please share your thoughts.

I also don't know what she was bred for, I saw her dam, and she was taller (15.3hh ish) and stout, but I didn't see her sire.

You could do a string test for an estimate of how tall she will mature.

Take a string and use one hand to hold one end on her ergot, stretch the string up to the point of her elbow with the other hand. Hold the string tightly between your fingers at both spots or tie a knot into the string to mark each spot.

Now move the string up and hold one mark at the point of her elbow and stretch the string up into the air over her withers. The height of the other mark gives a fairly accurate indicator of how tall she will be.

She looks like she is going to be a more stocky build & will be 15hh+.Nice looking filly. I have one similar in age she just a bit taller than your filly, she strings to 15.2 hh which I think is probably pretty accurate to how she's growing & to comparing to her siblings growth.

Ooops, sorry. I'm thinking she will probably be a bit stocky. While it's hard to see the details of her hind quarters, she just seems to have an overall stout build.

She's a cutie for sure.

Thanks, I am hoping she will be, I really don't like that tall of horses, as it is harder for me to mount. Shorter horses are my thing!
