I've been thinking alot about what to do with my horses, I have 3 horses but I keep holding out for that one horse who will take me as far as it can. Brady is turning 16 years old, he's a great barrel horse but at 16 he's pretty much reached his full potential. Which is a 1D/2D horse (1D is the fastest horses, 2D is a second or half second off the fastest) I love him, but he's an anybodys horse kinda horse. He likes everyone, it's not the greatest bond in the world. Eightysix is a 3 year old grade horse, unknown breed. He's just now cantering the barrels, and he's good but I don't think he's going to keep up with the horses around here. Around here the competition has been compared to be the same as at the high level rodeos. He's going to mature around 14.1-14.2, he'd make a great kids horse with more time. He's laid back as can be and has only ever bucked once with a rider, awesome going little horse. I think that was my grandpa whose the half owner of him planned on anyway, he always mentioned how he's brought him up to be a kids horse. My last horse is my mare, a 2D horse who has ran in the 1D and won it before. Never selling her, have had her for 8 years.
so for options...
A) keep the 3 of them and sell what happens
B) keep Patty (mare) and Eightysix, sell Brady or let my mom have him back (she doesn't want to sell him)
C) keep Patty, sell both geldings. Buy a 2 year old filly who I think has poetential and concentrate on showing and riding Patty while I bring my filly up. I would have over a year of just riding and showing Patty.
I'm a bit fed up with having 3 horses also
*congrats if you made it all the way through*
