We are looking at a 5 month old weaning that we want to buy, but to do that we have to sell of our horses probably the 3 YO AQHA filly who is still green.
The owner of the weanling said they wouldn't sell him, but if we wanted they would sell him to us
We own a full brother (gelding) to the weanling, and she's says the reason she wants the weanling is cause she wants to sell the brother in a year or 2, and she wants to keep the weanling as a stud. We do have the facilities to house a stallion, and we may never breed him, but we want the option.
His pedigree is above average (I would say anyway, matter of opinion tho) he has Doc Bar, Freckles Playboy, Highbrow Hickory, Okie Leo (son of Leo) all on his papers.
So I guess I'm asking if you were us what would you do? Buy the weanling and sell the filly? Or keep the filly and pass on the weanling?

Pics of both and full pedigrees before I'd voice an opinion.

Yearling
Well... unless you have a plan for the weanling, then I wouldn't buy him.

I'm not sure I see much point in.keeping a stallion if he could potentially never be bred.

The weanling colt & the filly and pics of all 3 horses actually. Preferably conformation type photos so I can see all 4 legs, both sides, front, back and a really good head and neck shot of them. The gelding's pedigree is the same as the weaner, right?

That works. If you put the pedigrees on allbreed I can look at 'em and see who I'd buy first, just from looking at paper. Then I can look at the horses when you get the pics up.
