Pet Peeves With Your Horse....?

What are your pet peeves with your horse.?

Here's some of mine(not all with Blu):



When horses drag their feet, just being lazy.

When horses expect you to drag them.

When horses won't stand still for mounting.

When horses don't want to be bathed.

When horses refuse to be bridle/saddled/etc.

When horses constantly pull down to graze.



Lol. That's all I can think of at the moment....

When they get spooked at the smallest/silliest things! LOL! :P

When they keep putting their head up while you're putting on the bridle.

When they poop while they are trotting...how embarrassing.

Or if they fart while going up to a jump, haha!!

Omg one thing buck does that drives me crazy is when im wearng something nice and he rubs his head all over me!!! LOL drives me cazy!

When ugly horses are shown.

When people brag about their horses, when they arn't that great.

When people let their horses get away with things.

When people refuse to punish their horses.

I hate it when Janie puts her head up in the air when I try to put the bridle on her. Grrr! It makes tacking up such a chore lol

I think this is for what your pet peeves with YOUR horse are...not over what other people do that makes you angry...

My biggest pet peeve with Mercedes is she has it in her head that whenever we go into the arena, it's time to drop and roll. It's crazy! If I try to lunge her without letting her roll first she'll start bending her knees while trotting!
Needless to say we are working on that...no rewards until AFTER lol :-p

Oh, and like BluMagic, trying to graze while being led! Ugghh

Always rests his left rear leg when squared up.

Tries to kick his way out of the trailer when stopped or when making a left turn.

After I give Lexi a treat, she gets really hyper & if I put anything near her (even my hand!) she'll think it's a treat. LOL! Thank God that only lasts for like a minute, hehe!

Vida can't walk and poop at the same time.
When I want to scratch her front end she turns her back end to me wanting her butt scratched.
When all 4 of them follow me around like puppies.
When they won't let me feed the chickens without wanting some chicken scratch.
When they get a drink of water then want pets, dribbling water all over me.
When they pee in their hay.

When my horse is trimmed he leans all of his 1000lbs on me when the farrier is doing one of his front feet.

When he takes the brush away and throws it away from me when I brush him then sneaks bites of hay while I'm fetching the brush.

When he spooks at the barn cats meowing.

When he grabs a bite of hay as I'm leading him out and tears the whole bale down.

When I'm picking his back feet he farts or poops. EVERY time. (He plans it! I know he does :roll: )

When he tries to eat my hands off after I give him a treat.

When he thrashes around to get his bridle/halter off as quickly as possible and only makes it take longer.

How he gives me about three seconds int he pasture to put the halter on and if I take a second longer he turns and gallops away into the 60 acre pasture and plays "catch me if you can!"

That's about all I can think of.
