I wouldn't take a new foal or mare if you are doing it for Elle's sake.

Only take the animals if you have the time, space, money, and desire to care for them properly.

If your friends are desperate and you have the space and money, maybe you could take the mare and foal long enough to resell them for your friends.

Don't do it for Elle. She would probably be much happier with more time with you, rather than having you be distracted by new additions to the horsie family.

Don't blame yourself for the lost foal. These things happen, and your presence wouldn't have made any difference. Sorry you are going through such a rough patch.

I would say, don't go for it just yet. There will be plenty of foals to come around in time. You need to spend time with just Elle, shes lost a foal. You should also get Elle checked out by a vet. Something went wrong, what was it? It wasn't your fault, unless you poisioned her deliveretly. Then it is not your fault. I know that no one on HF would do that. If you did do something wrong, by accident. Everyone makes mistakes.

Don't blame yourself these things happen. But I really don't reccomend taking on the mare and foal, straight after something like this happened.

ok maddie... that was really out of line!!!! bell wouldn't poison elle on purpose i no she wouldn't even do that!!!!!!!!!!!! like really no one would poison there horse!!

I think, a horse is the animal to have. Eleven-hundred pounds of raw muscle, power, grace, and sweat between your legs - it's something you just can't get from a pet hamster.

I didn't say she did. I was saying the only way that it could be her fault was if she deliveretly posioned Elle. I know she wouldn't and didn't. No one on HF would!
