I wouldn't bet his $50 asking price on it. That picture makes me cringe a bit. I've seen some wonky legged babies but that looks painful. I feel bad for the little guy.

When I was a kid (probably 10ish) my gpa bought a mare for my sister sight unseen (she had multiple youth world titles and hundreds of points). We went to pick her up and the owners had skipped town and the neighbor was handling the sale. Worst condition I'd ever seen horses in. There was a pen of yearlings and I asked my gpa "What's wrong with those cows?" They all had Ricketts and heads like you wouldn't believe. Mare turned out to be a saint of a babysitter after she gained 300 lbs & got rid of her rain rot & lice.

I've seen some bad ones but that takes it, hands down. It may be the flash but does his R eye look blind too??? I feel so bad for him!

I live in a wilderness area, and believe me, people love their horses here so much, a call to the Animal Control Officer would have been made instantly - my heart breaks for this little guy! I'm a very mild-mannered person, but feel I could wring that owner's neck right about now.....

Didnt expect to open that link and see pretty much my town attatched to such a sad looking little baby. The saddest part is there are so many sad looking animals out here. We have had a couple people come to the door asking us to take various animals. Maybe because ours are fst and happy? I almost want to go get this guy . Cant take that on though. :-(

That por thing! If I had the money and means I would buy him and take care (by which i mean spoil rotten) of him forever, don't think he'd like the trip to Canada though

If I lived anywhere near Oklahoma or had the ability to transport him to Oregon, I would hand over whatever I could to get him from those people and being fed properly. That's just sick. There's a special place in hell for horse owners like that.

I try not to make quick judgements, but this just screams backyard breeder. I doubt any reputable breeder would sell a horse in this condition. If they did sell it, it would be at an auction where there place of business was not mentioned.

I really hate it for the horse. He will be the one who has to suffer. I don't want to sound mean, but I hope the people can't even give this horse away. I hope everything they try and do costs them more and more money. So much so that they rethink breeding anything else.

What really gets me, so many folks are anti horse slaughter, but there are people that would take a horse like this. It is the backyard breeders that drive the need for slaughter houses. Why would anyone support a person contributing to such a bad situation?

My heart aches for the horse. We (meaning us horse people) need to start thinking of situations such as these in the big picture, though. Are we going to be able to save his brother next year?

I agree sandy..however hard for me it is, I agree.
I'm seriously tempted to ask my parents if we can take him on, even if it's just to get him out and find him a better home, even see if Blazes Equine Rescue will take him on..I wouldn't have much to say to the owner, thats for sure.....as much as I would like to smack him in the face..

How do you correct his legs, if you can at all?
