Hey Everyone,

In my school this year we have to do a project on something that interests us.
I was going to do my project on horses but the problem is there is so much things to choose from within the horses world and I would like to do something that I would have to research and that I don't know much about. I ride english but have only really done showjumping and I know a good bit about the racing industry because my dad works within it so anything other then those two really.

If you could leave suggestions here and once I get enough replies if there is alot of ideas the top four will go into a poll and be voted on by everyone how bout that So could you give me any idea you got

Thank you all in advance ^_^

I once did a short rsearch project on Lipizzaners and the Spanish Riding School that turned out pretty well. Maybe pick a rare-er breed and do some research? I think I also did one that summarized different (broad) training philosophies (NH vs Classical vs Cowboy etc.).

It's awesome if you can do a project that interests you, it keeps you from procrastinating too much . The papers and essays keep coming in college, and if I have the opportunity to pick a topic that relates back to my major (economics), or to horses, of course , I find that I have an easier time getting started.

Good luck, and have fun with your project!

That is what I think to, which I love doing is a breed of something, so I am totally an all for it for choosing a horse breed, and writing from its history from when the breed first started etc, it really is a good topic for all us horse lovers lol, I mostly would think to do it about a breed you don't know or havent really heard of before ! Keeps it more exciting.

But I definitally try suggesting to go outside with the boundries of things you know, and learning something new ! :) its so much fun

I think that doing a report on horses and their role through history is always fun. I did a report on horses in the civil war, what they were expected to do everyday, the tack they used, etc. There are some famous horses through history that had famous riders that always provide good report material.

My family had a reunion in Gettysburg one year, and that sparked several months worth of Civil War research and obsession ! Some of the stories about the different generals' horses are amazing! I found an awesome book in a gift shop there about the horses of the Civil War, with some wonderful statistics on cavalry sizes and the amount of feed the horses needed, how far they traveled in an average day, and tons more information than the average reader would ever want to know!
