The mare I rode in this mornings lesson had a huge brand on her rump. A letter and two numbers. She's a big mare and very sweet. I've never seen a brand like that on a horse.. any one have an idea of what it means? Where it's from? More for curiosities sake.
She's a very nice mare, responsive, looks to be half draft of some sort. So I'm curious.
Oh! And if there's a better spot to post this let me know please. Thanks.
A lot of bucking horse stock are branded with numbers or letter number combos on top of the rump, easily read looking down them when sorting horseback in the back pens and easy to read looking down on them in a chute. Slight chance he may be a flunked out bucking horse especially if he's a draft cross
This is the best picture I have of my horse's brand:
Click on the picture to enlarge, but it obviously covers a lot of area. It showed who his previous owner was, so he could roam on the Navajo reservation and not be stolen. The bill of sale had the brand on it...forget the details.
