I amuse myself with studying different horse genetics and color variations, and recently have starting looking at my three sorrels thinking that maybe they have a little pangare (or mealy, whichever you prefer). Of course, this is all just speculation... I don't really care to bother getting them tested, I'm just curious.
Also, Dante is two; do you think his color could still change dramatically from what it is now?
(I'll just link the pictures, because there are lots and some are pretty big)
Ruby: (11 y/o, Bandit and Dante's dam)
Shows a little lightening around her muzzle
muzzle again
Her eye
in her winter coat, her underbelly and another, with a bit of white on her legs
Bandit: (3 y/o)
Shows the lighter underbelly, just in front of his back leg
shows a bit of his muzzle, as well as his belly
and his belly again
Dante: (2 y/o)
He's the one in front; shows the lightening of the base of his tail and muzzle (And Bandit is behind him; he has a bit of a lighter tail head, too, and a lighter tone on his belly, just before his back leg...)
Sort of a ring around his eye...?
Both boys: shows their muzzles. Dante is in red, Bandit in green and another
Dante's belly and lighter tail head
And if it helps any... the only picture I have of Bandit and Dante's sire is this.
Sorry for the proliferation of pictures...
