    Randomness about showing this weekend

    Hello,

So I haven't been in the show ring in like four years and I'm super excited about this horse show I am going to this weekend. The horse I am showing is an Appaloosa Gelding, 14hh named Rusty. You can see him in my picture on my signature. He has never been to a show in his life! He has been hauled places to go on trail rides and he's been horse camping. But no one has any clue about how he will do. I am nervous about that but I know I am capable of getting him through the day.

We are showing in walk/jog western ranch horse, walk/trot hunter over ground poles, 18" hunter hack and walk/trot English pleasure. Its only a schooling show but there tends to be a big turnout of people. Also my horse kicks, so red ribbon is a must. But I'm still worried about someone getting to close and him kicking someone.

So this was a random and pointless post but it feels good to talk about my concerns so I guess it wasn't totally pointless.

If I was judging this thing, I'd tell everybody to enter the ring. Then I'd tell everybody riding a horse with a red ribbon on its tail to come to the center of the arena. Then I'd arrange them all in a circle, back-to-back. Then we back our horses until they started kicking one another and we'd have a good ole fashioned kick-off.

I bet some of the horses would get cured of that kicking.

    Now that's a schooling show
