Reading horses racing career?

Ok so I have no idea I just accidently came across something about my thoroughbred Apache's racing career. I know next to nothing about the sport other then horses run and who comes first wins hehe. I was just wondering how to read the career number thing up the side of the page because I'm just curious if anyone can help me thanks. I hope the link works. I have been trying to find out all sorts of stuff about my boy since we were lied to when we bought him. I can find practically nothing. My curiousty really annoys me sometimes when I don't get to the bottom of it hehe.

Ok I just found this too

I'm guessing that means he came first once and second a few times. When I bought him I was told he had never won anything.

I haven't seen a chart like that before, but the numbers on the left side seem to indicate his place finish and the number of horses in the field, so 3 - 7 means he ran third out of 7. SCR means he scratched. Looks like he had one win by 3 lengths in a 3 year old maiden handicap and a bunch of seconds. Look like all fairly cheap races - the win was in a $5300 race with 3550 paid to the winner.

I joined Racing Post and it has videos of every race in the UK since about 1992... (it's free to join if you don't want high def vids) and found five videos of my boy racing... He was awful But it's really good to have full footage of every race he ran, as I can see he finished sound each time!

I've heard that racing is better (as in more documented and accessable) in Aus, so wondering if you have an australian version of Racing Post?
