    Registering a horse

Hey! I've been debating whether or not to register my horse. She is a bay tobiano Shire x Paint.

Her dam is registered APHA and her sire is registered ASHA.

I just don't know what legit registries are out there that would accept a draft cross. With her were sent papers for the American Warmblood Registry so that I could register her (she wasn't registered yet), but it says that they don't accept draft crosses. Some registries look sketchy and I just don't want to be scammed haha.

    Thanks for any help!

Look up the American Warmblood Society (AWS...different registry than the ASR). That's the only registry I can find that would register my draft cross gelding (black tobiano whose sire is registered APHA and dam is registered Canadian Percheron Registry).

Is that the only registry that accepts our awesome draft crosses? Is there an annual fee or something? :)

    Thanks

As far as I have found, that is the only legit one. As for fees, you'd have to look on the website. I decided not to register my boy because there's no point. It doesn't change the fact that he's a grade and won't help him get into more shows or anything.

You can register her in the Pinto Draft Association but not the Spotted Draft Association.

You would be registering color only. One look at your horse and it is obviously a pinto.Pinto is from old Spanish Pintada, meaning three colors.
