    Talking Remember me? I'm back!

    Howdy everyone! :)

Some of you may remember me, probably not though. My Father was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007 and passed away January 1, 2011. So I never had a lot of horse knowledge and definitely not riding knowledge. I came to the Horse Forum in 2012, I was a Junior in highschool and just gotten a different pony and came here for riding advice and I thought she was pregnant so advice on that also. Well she wasn't pregnant which I was actual thankful for.

Well! Now I am in college! I've always had a dream of becoming a more educated rider, and riding more often and eventually competing which I thought would never come true. At my college we have both Hunt Seat and Western teams that are recognized by the college which is amazing!

I wanted to make the Hunt Seat team so I went to both pre-practice rides and then the tryouts. Due to my lack of consistent riding, and not starting at a young age I would have been estatic to have made the JV team. I MADE VARSITY! I was speechless, I jumped up and down and called my Mom and my boyfriend to share the news! I was amazed! Along with making the team I would practice twice a week and would be showing, which I have NEVER done before. I started the semester off with not much, clothing and experience wise. I started and am still in the Walk-Trot class for showing. I bought myself Tredstep Donatello boots which I LOVE and started buying the rest of my clothing, breeches, show shirt, show jacket, and now I'm working on the helmet.

I have showed in 5 shows out of 6, and placed 4 out of the 5 times I have showed. 2 fifth places, and 2 second places!! I am VERY proud of myself for everything I have accomplished so far in the horse world and the college world!
This is my second semester and I am taking 17 credit hours, practicing twice a week for the team, commuting from home, and holding down a work study job. I have a show this Sunday which I am somewhat nervous for but I'm not. I'm doing pretty good right now considering my hectic schedule!

I just wanted to share my happiness with the rest of you and an update on me! Plus the accomplishments I have made considering the situation I've overcome with my family from the past few years.

Here is the most recent picture of Penelope for you all to see!

I believe she is a POA X Appaloosa. She is 11.1hh, I believe she has had one foal in her life and is about 8-9 years old. She is a total sweetheart, just a pain to catch in the pasture!

She knowns how to be ridden Western and knows neck reining. I figured out in college that I love Hunt Seat riding so much more. So it's a work in progress to teach her!

Things are going fantastic! The first horse show of the Spring Semester is this Sunday, I'm showing in Walk-Trot. Wish me luck!
