Rick "No Show" Dutrow

Rick Dutrow, trainer of Big Brown, was a no-show at the congressional hearings into Thoroubred racing and drugs. His excuse? He's supposedly battling a virus and is too sick to go. More likely he doesn't want to get nailed to the wall because of his questionable training methods. This guy seems to get slimier with every passing week...

That's a cryin shame... I wish just for once people could stand up and say "Yeah...I did that" and go from there.

I meant "Thoroughbred" in my initial post, not "thoroubred". I can't spell today!

Too many drugs Just kidding

I read in yesterday's paper Dutrow was being suspended because a horse he trains was tested after a win and twice the legal amount of a drug was found in its system. The horse had placed 2nd somewhere and the owners had to forfiet their winnings. I'm glad Big Brown's owners have made their stables drug free.

LOL!! I had just taken a drink of tea when I started reading your post, and it almost ended up all over my monitor!
Yeah, I read about Dutrow's recent suspension. I really wish Iavarone and the other owners would fire him. Iavarone seems to be really concerned with how the stable is run and that the horses be drug-free. He even made mention that anyone who wants to train for him will have to agree to go drug-free. I wonder if that was a hint that Dutrow's days are numbered?
