Riding with Reagan...good book

Not sure where this belongs, but I read a book a few years ago that I liked - Riding with Reagan. It is available at Amazon used for $0.01 plus shipping:

A lengthy excerpt can be found here:

Riding with Reagan: From the White ... - Google Books

Regardless of what one thinks of his politics, it may be a long time before the US has another President who loves horses and rode like Reagan did...

The helmet fanatics would crucify him now...

Great post, I had never seen photos of Reagan jumping before. I like your comments: it had never before occurred to me that heads of state don't protect their heads when riding. I guess the secret service can prevent people from having brain injuries? :)

The book was by a secret service agent. I gather they went nuts trying to figure out how to keep Reagan from getting hurt, when riding a horse of any sort can be dangerous. And Reagan wasn't a 'slow walk down the trail' kind of guy. He liked riding fast and jumping.

I don't get on a horse without a helmet, but the picture of Ronald Reagan and Queen Elizabeth 2 makes a person think about the changes in our society.

I also thought it was interesting that an actor who did westerns loved riding English!

Oh my gosh I had no idea that Reagan was an equestrian! This looks great, I will definitely read it. Thanks for posting!
