I logged onto Facebook this morning to see this, it's shocking news. He was really such an incredible horse and him with his rider was honestly, a very inspirational team.

I have seen the video & it's very tragic (For those who want to see it, PM me and I'll send you a link). It's quite comforting (I cannot find the correct word), to see the love which Eric Lamaze had for that horse - you can see the concern in him as Hickstead falls to the ground. I know I'll be waiting for later press-releases on the event.

I hope for one, that this tragic event reminds us to never take our horses for granted.

    RIP Hickstead <3.

I learned of this today on facebook. I wish I had been watching to pay my moment of silence with those riders. I hope they will still accept my latecomings to the tragic day.

Eric will be in my prayers.
    RIP Hickstead,

So very sad. How heartbreaking that such a talented horse passes in his prime like that.

His passing sadly was on live TV, I will link the video but DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE EASILY UPSET.
