Rodeo Update

Havent been on here in a while, and I figured I would update you all on what was going on with me and Rodeo.

The new barn that I was planning on moving to was said to be ready on Aug 1st. I thought great! Wont have to pay board and than wonder if I was going to get it back at my current barn. Well last week I tried emailing, texting, calling, anything and everything to get a hold of the new barn BO about when it was going to be ready. Never did I get a single response from her. MY current BO has been bugging boarders nonstop, and after the whole vet fiasco, I was beyond ready to go.

So I got a hold of a friend of mine, and she came and picked Rodeo up for me on July 31st. We brought him to my house, and on the way to my house I got a text message from the new barn BO saying that she "thinks" the new barn is ready. Well I was so fed up with her after going through hell trying to figure out what to do with Rodeo that I texted her back saying "let me know when it is ready, Ive already moved Rodeo to my house"....she said that she would, and 5 days later, still nothing.

So anyways, Rodeo is in my back yard, since it was such a last minute thing I have kind of been scrambling to get everything, let alone get a buddy for him, but all is going well! At this point in time, he is doing so amazing out there by himself, I may just wait to get him a friend to see what we can afford financially and go from there.

We went on our first ride since being home, and probably the first "actual" ride in Id say almost a month. Couldnt be any happier with how he is doing though!

Sorry its so long, just figured Id update all of you :)

Keep Rodeo at your house. If the new barn is already pulling crap like this, you dont want to be there. Thats ridiclious.

Thanks for all the replies!

CLaPorte.....bringing him home was my last choice at the moment, yes I was considering it a few months ago, but things didnt fall into the right place, so I never thought of it again, well that is until everything happened. Therefore, everything is kind of a mess, like I said, wasnt prepared at all, and I basically bought everything, hay, feed, fencing(besides what was already up) literally right before we brought him home. BUT I know he is safe out there, he doesnt have anyone, or anything bothering him, and I love having him here, and seeing him everyday!

To add to the nonsense from the previous barn, Rodeo has lovely halter rubs all on his face. Funny thing is, the BO knows that he cant keep his halter on because of this, and I have told them that since I brought him there, almost a year ago!!!!

Within just the last month, everytime I have gone out to the barn he has had his halter on, I have called, talked to her in person, written it up on the board there, even had something on his stall there, and they still kept his halter on!!!! So he has little sores, and scabs healing on his face now, but at least I know that they will heal.

I agree with you 100% though! I was beyond excited about the new barn, but after being told over and over and over again that it was going to eb ready, and having virtually no communication with the new BO, Im done with that family. There is only so much I can handle when I am paying them $400+ a month, and they cant even take his halter off :D
