Yep that's right! My little dufus is finally going to graduate and be a part of the High School Equestrian Team. I have a teammate who wanted to do it but has a very green horse, and I offered her the use of Ruger. She came out and rode him yesterday, and they got along VERY well.
There was an incident where he reached around and bit her stirrup and the idiot got himself stuck (I've been swearing since he first had a saddle on that he would do that) but he didn't panic or anything, just got stuck, pulled and staggered a little, then stood still while she got off and we got him free. He is a very mouthy horse by nature, and since he hasn't been ridden in a week he was a little fresh to the sidepass cue, and that was what made him bite the stirrup. He generally does stupid things like that when he's fresh. He settled down right after that though and worked just beautifully.
I'm going to get pictures of them soon. I am going to keep hauling Ruger to races and things and ride him, but I will now be taking my friend down with me to ride him and her and I will be planning a lesson together with the other two members of the team soon.
I'm excited. I think he's going to be a really good horse for us to use on drill and in the gaming and cow classes as well as the performance classes.
