Saddle Delivery Date

I bought a saddle off of ebay on the 23rd of August. The seller put the saddle in the mail immediately with a tracking number. I'm a bit worried, confused, and irritated because everytime I go to check on the saddle's tracking, the tracking information still has it in Arizona (original place). According to the tracking, it hasn't moved since the time the seller dropped it at the post office.

They used USPS for the carrier and I've never had a problem with that carrier before. They are usually prompt with the updates on tracking. I have shipped and recieved things while tracking them without a problem.

The due date for the saddle to arrive is tomorrow (the 29th), but the tracking says it hasn't moved.

Any thoughts about this? I'm getting a bit antsy and concerned. Should I contact the seller? Should I contact the post office? Has anyone else had problems with USPS tracking? Do you think its on its way here and the tracking just wasn't updated? Or do you think its sitting in the post office?

Thoughts and advice is appreciated! Thanks!

USPS is notorius for not updating their tracking staus. I wouldn't worry. Every time I have shipped with them they only update once it's been delivered.

Yup, agreed. Don't worry, even if your saddle is a day or so beyond the "expected" delivery date.

Gotta love USPS.

I ordered a saddle pad off of ebay and the status was updating, but then when it was in the local area, it was never delivered and the status never updated again. It missed the scheduled delivery date. I contacted USPS and they said they had up to 15 days past the scheduled delivery date to deliver. The seller kept in great contact with me. The carrier told me to have a "tracer" put on it, which I called the PO and they wouldn't do until after the 15 days. It did finally update and come after a week and a half after the scheduled delivery date.

Keep in contact with the seller and contact the PO to see if they can put a tracer on it. Mine had been lost and shipped to the wrong PO and was never scanned. Finally found after the tracer.

Nuh uh, and you can't make me!!!

Whenever I send something that HAS to be trackable, it goes by FedEx. They're really not much pricier than the USPS, and they're a darned sight more reliable.

Thanks for the input, guys.

I will wait until tomorrow to see if its delivered. If not, then I will contact the seller and give him a heads up. I haven't had a problem with USPS this way. They've always tracked the things I've either sold or bought. This would be the first time they either haven't tracked, or haven't shipped.

For me, anyways!

This has happened to me before. I got my package on schedule, but tracking info wasn't updated through the whole process. Perhaps it just missed being scanned when it left AZ

I sent all my commisioned artwork to the clients via USPS. They were always on time and never lost a thing. Only trouble was when I sent things to Canada. Once the package hit the border, it went into Slo-mo.

I have had the same experience as others. The tracking updates and delivery time with USPS is sketchy at best. I honestly can't tell you how many times I've had things delivered but the tracking page would still say "In Route" or how many times I've had the tracking page say "Delivered" when the item wasn't here yet. I even had part of one order that was held in Dallas for over 3 weeks because they said it had an "Incorrect Address", which is funny because it was only a portion of a large order...the rest of which arrived fine. With that one, I finally had to contact the seller and they replaced the items that never arrived and they were very good about it, but as far as I know, that part of the order is still sitting in some warehouse in Dallas.

I would give it a few days and if it still hasn't arrived, then I would start making calls.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
