saddlebred reg. help

ok I am thinking about adopting roxy a 5 or 6 yo saddlebred mare and the adoption place said that her papers had been lost from previous owners I was wondering just how hard it is to get a duplicate of lost papers if I could get her registration number that would make it easier im asuming (never really had a reg horse most of mine have either been resucues or crosses) would there be anything else to help track down her papers besides her reg. Name ahd what website would I beable to look at that will be helpful (the papers are not a huge deal but it would be nice to know her bloodlines and everything I don't plan on showing or anything like that I mostly trail ride and go to local hunter paces for fun)

I have been looking here ASHA - American Saddlebred Horse Association but all I am finding is half saddlebred registration stuff unless im looking in the wrong places this is he rescue place she is at just scroll down to the one named roxy she is the bay (let me know what you think about her)

If you've got her registered name and you're a member of the ASHA they have a search function you can use. But you do have to be a member. You can always call the ASHA office. They're pretty helpful and should be able to help you out. They might try to wrangle you into a membership though. I had to renew my membership with them when I sold my horse, and that was a pain in the tush. So, if you're wanting your name to be on her papers you will have to join. If you're going to be showing her saddleseat being a member is a big plus anyways.

Thanks for the info I don't know her reg. Name nor her # the adoption group is contacting the previous owners to see if they can get the info I know with a walking horse it costs alot plus dna testing I wasnt sure if saddlebred registration would be about the same or not but with her already having the papers I didnt think it would be near as hard to get maybe a duplicate

Duplicates definitely aren't hard to get. I don't remember, I think it may be $50? Of course, that was at least 5 years ago so I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed. Good luck with finding her name!
