Well, we were pretty busy out at the barn (we were hosting a birthday party), but I managed to squeeze twenty minutes in to give Ice a bath, and he loved it! I definitely expected him to act like the devil was possessing him about being cross tied, but he was fine, and he didn't really give me crap about using the curry comb on him to scrub, even though he hates being curried. After I had him all rinsed off, I dumped a bucket of liniment and water on him, and let that soak in a little bit, and he was just soooo happy. I was massaging is poll right behind his ears, which can get pretty sore because he cribs, and he dropped his head all the way down to the ground, and stayed there till I sprayed him with the hose again (cold water), lol. I also decided to brave being killed and messed with his sheath a little bit.....he didn't threaten to cow kick, but the first time he sort of moved away and sucked his belly up, then the next time just lifted his leg to knock my hand out of the way....I started moving with him, and he just put his leg down. I noticed later that night when I put him in his stall that he had low flow, so I'm going to have to brave him again and clean his sheath next weekend.
I also had a woman come out and look at him for a free lease. She wants to see him ridden by someone first, since she's not comfortable riding english, so I'm going to have to have someone ride him since I'm not comfortable either. I might corral the BO's daughter, she normally rides a VERY large and very forward gelding (either TB or WB) so I definitely think she can handle my little shrimpy guy.
