Second Day at New Barn =]

Okay so today was my second day at Moonlight. I got there around 8:00 and Doc was standing nicely in a paddock with three other mares (they put him with girls, i thought that was funny) I went out and got him and the stable hands had brought him in to feed then turned him back out. I put him in a wash stall and he was still a little hyped up. I calmed him down by brushing him for a bit. I attempted to lunge him but he wasn't having it so I just tacked up. There was a lesson going on in the ring but my new trainer said it would be okay if I rode in the ring as long as I stayed out of the way and used proper ring manners.(which is no problem). I warmed up and he was a little hyper. He settled down when I started to canter and he was deffantly showing off his transitions and flying lead changes 8) (thats my boy) Then i went on a mini trail ride with two other girls my age. They pretty much just showed me around. Doc did fine on the road but I am still nervous about taking him out in the fields. Then I came back to the ring and jumped. I didnt feel like raising the jumps cause lessons were about to go on again so I jumped him about 2 feet. I got him used to the jumps, they have a wishing well jump and boxes and flowers. He had no problem he only looked at the flowers  I was very proud of him so I cooled him off and took him into the barn. Everyone is so sweet and they are introducing themselves and talking to me. Its really nice. I hosed him off and sat outside with another rider my age and watched a few lessons. We hung out for a bit and then i tied him up in the cross ties and started grooming him more. He had a nice little fan blowing on him the whole time. Then a lady my mom used to know and her daughter asked me if I wanted to take one of their horses out on a trail ride with her. So I rode their 5YO TB gelding. He was really calm the whole time. He wanted to canter alot and when he did it was nice and collected. The trails are really nice and shaded and I cant wait to play on the XC course :P We brought them back up to the barn and hosed them off. I went in and sat in the break room cause i was sooo hot and waited for my dad. Then I went and said goodbye to Doc.

I had a really good day. I'm going out to ride tommrow after church and i am hoping to jump a little of our normal height.
