I ave been pondering over stall.
Is 10 by 10 to small?
I have seen 10 by 10 stalls but a Draft was in the stall, so it looked a bit small. Though the daft wasn't in there to long.
Do they work? Most certainly. They are functional.
Are they optimal? No.
Since my horses are very rarely closed in their stalls I think they are a great size. If my horses were going to have to stand in those stalls with out a door open into their paddock for 12 hours a day, I would say that a larger size would probably be better.
My stalls are 10x10 and they work fine. I have three, and usually my Paso Fino and his two minis he's overprotective of share a stall and they all have room to lay down lol
I think it depends on how long your horse is going to be in there, if there is an adjoining yard and how big the horse is. For an average horse you'll probably be fine.
I have 10x12 and they look pretty big (although my horses are rather small). And I only stall them in bad weather (heavy rain or snow or ice).
