Sooo... I got a call..

from that ad I responded to.

Turns out that tthis was bigger than I expected. Theydo futurities, have world champions, train for open show, start colts from horses like sans peppy...

And it is upto me if I take it.

Holy wow! This is an opportunity of a lifetime! But im not sure I can do it. The man $aid I will likely experience bucking, and ive never handled a bucking horse before. So im nervous about that. But they are willing to teach, too, and I want to be better. They offered to let me watch, and work with learning how to train colts if I feel the show circuit is not for me...

maybe I will do the colt starting first andif the opportunity comes again I can take it wih more confidence.

What do you guys think?

Do they offer medical insurance, you'll need it.

Edit-not sure if this is a one time thing or full time job...

Jump all OVER it and soak up everything thing they want to teach you, like a sponge. Then you can process it all and decide to keep what you like and not what you don't, but there'll never be a better opportunity to learn a lot really fast. Do the showing, teaching, learning, training, ALL of it. If you find you don't like it, you can always leave but something like this could be a once in a lifetime thing. If you chicken out because you think you're not good enough, you never will be. Grab on with both hands and hang on.

I agree with above! You'll learn more jumping in with both feet when there is good guidance, than you will out of a book. Take what you can out of the opportunity, because if you don't, somebody else will. :)

Good luck!

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

I agree with everyone above! Do it! This might only come around once! You are blessed to have this opportunity. Some of us don't. Like Maple said, Jump in with both feet. If you are too afraid of the water get out of the pool. Someone else will take your place. You don't want that to happen. :) lol Now go out there and start working some colts!

Horses are scared of two things. Things that move and things that don't

Thank you everyone. Im really excited, but I'm also really apprehensive, too.

I decided if friday works out to go see them, I will go. The fact that they travel has gotten me a bit worried, as I would prefer to stay in my general area. Bah!
