Red face Strange question...need help on a costume class!

I'm making a costume for my horse for a show we are doing in August.

I'm making my horse into a moose. I need to make his antlers, and I know they need to be really big. I was thinking about using just regular craft foam, but I don't think that will hold its shape and will flop around. What else could I use? I was thinking maybe styrofoam, like the stuff that comes in sheets that people use as temporary insulation, but I don't know.

Any ideas? It needs to hold its shape, not flop around, and be lightweight.

Riders aren't 16 and pregnant. Riders are 16 and arthritic.

What about acquiring some Christmas horse antlers and modifying them?

find those Christmas headbands that have antlers? I know I have like three pairs of red and green ones. You can add onto them with craft foam.
