Oh come on, we all have them! Stupid things that happen in the barn..Stupid people in the barn...Ya know that "one" person ;) Lol. What are your "incidents"? What I mean by stupid is say someone says something to you and it's...well, stupid! Haha. Or someone says something like "Oh don't geld your horse he will hate you forever blablabla!" Anyways, heres mine! I'm interested to hear everyone else's
So, this one lady at my barn is a TOTAL bloodline snob, always gloats about her horses bloodlines (but never says what they are..hmm..) So I had finally got Brandy's papers and decided to tell said bloodline snob about Brandy's bloodlines...With each horse I mentioned the face she made got worse and worse..Then all the sudden she interrupted me and said "Well, it's nothing special, all horses have those horses in their bloodlines" and walked away...I think ours topped hers ;)

I don't mean to be a party pooper, are a Debbie Downer, but just be sure that what ever you say here you don't regret later. So, if you make a comment about somebody at your barn, who you interract with daily, who might know you here on this forum, (just maybe), who you think says something stupid, be sure you won't care if that person happens to read it here.

I think in general just be careful what you post on a forum. It's so easy (especially on a really great forum) to just blab away about everything. But certain information that you might give away might come back to bite you later. I know this from experience.

Regarding your thread, I'm probably that "one" person, LOL! I was going to get into a story...then I realized it's a really embarrassing one. Don't think I'll be sharing it anytime soon, haha.

I agree with everyone else..its how I found out my old BO and her husband would do check ups and google us to make sure we weren't being bad. I had posted something about the husband waiting too long to do feet and me not feeling quite comfortable with how long everyone went and they took it way wrong and got ****** with me. It wasn't anything super negative just an opinion but people take things differently.

I'm sorry for you, but I think I just died!!
I freaked out because I was on my mare and wasn't paying attention, and all the sudden I was on the ground...which is bad, I live next to the road, haha! I just got up and acted like I meant to do it, haha.

Last summer when I was still retraining Raina on everything for the arena, there was a new boarder who arrived. I had loosely tied Raina to the wall since she had a history of rearing up and flipping herself over when tied. I pretty much just looped the rope through the tie so she thought she was tied, so if she did anything stupid she wouldn't break anything. Anyways! The woman comes right up behind Raina with her own horse and stands there. I caution her on Raina's old habit and told her if she did it, I didn't want her or her horse to get hurt. She never moved.

So I tack up and go into the outside arena and this lady follows me with her horse and is yelling at her horse for stupid stuff and shanking the poor creature for god knows what. She keeps telling me about how bad her horse is and how much she needs retrained and what a holy terror she is. I didn't see anything bad about the horse so I just nodded and started riding. She got on her horse and started yanking hard on the bit to "punish" the horse for not doing an immediate stop from a walk when asked. About 10 minutes into my ride, Raina had a melt down next to the gate (we were retraining and she is much, much better now) and picked a bad fight with me while we were riding. After leaping and bucking and doing stupid crap around the arena for a couple minutes, she finally settles down and we start work again. The woman just stared and said "Is she young?" I said no, just needed retrained, and after that she stopped yelling and yanking and smacking her own horse. I guess it was a matter of perspective lol

Anyways, I don't think the BO wanted her there because she seemed scared of her horse since she was always trying to manhandle the poor thing. The BO is a very nice woman but she felt a little worried for the woman's safety even though from what I've seen, her horse was alright. I think she was either asked to leave or left on her own because I haven't seen her since last summer.

Didn't exactly happen in a barn, happened in class when I was still in school..
Me(talking to my horsie friend, sharing expiriences): "Yea, Brandy tried to throw me yesterday and WOW! She got a beatdown! And after that, she had the nerve to kick me!"
Then all the sudden this girl butts in (one of the popular "omg I know everything" type) and says" OMG (yes, actually OMG, she speaks in text..ugh) I WOULD TOTES KICK YOU TOO! Why would you beat your horse like that? Someone should call the humane society!!"
Me and my friend: *facepalm*

Okay, if my sister ever finds out about this... well, I'm totally dead!

Cilla (now almost 12) was 3 years old and she had come out to the barn to visit us while we were milking the cows. She came out of the barn and ended up stepping in a BIG, fresh, cowpie. She got the one foot stuck and when she put her other foot down she got that one stuck too. Then she slipped and sat in it! By this time she was crying and she put both her hands in it to try and push herself out. She finally gave up and one of my other sisters got her out. Every one was laughing so hard they could hardly stand up. Needless to say, Cilla got a shower after that!

Not exactly stupid, it was more of a funny joke, haha.
So I was riding with a couple other boarders, and Brandy (when she was a new horse there) was being a total beast, trying to impress the other horses. 2 of the people were in the middle while me and another person dealt with our troubled horses, and person 1, lets call her G, wasn't paying attention, but person 2, lets call him R, was. All the sudden Brandy starts rearing, crow hopping and throwing a tantrum (no clue how I stayed on), and after hearing the commotion, G turned around and said "Wait, what happened? so R said "That my dear was crow hopping, and a rear." G: "WHAT?!? Do that again I missed it!"
So, what made it better was that after G said that, Brandy was a little angel!

Oh yeah. There's this one girl at the barn that's crazy... always misplacing things, talks to her horse in a stupid voice, is constantly wandering around trying to figure out where she put X and it's in her hand, gets run over by the gaiter... I'm pretty sure everyone has a stupid story about her.

.... oh wait, that's ME. Oops.

Well I guess that stall walls (and walls in general) are always in the same place... but... I have a problem with walking into them.
Really? It's the doors and gates that get me..I mean they just pop out of nowhere! Lol. I was brining my mare out of the fence (which is hotwire and shocks very bad! Haha) and she suddenly stopped like "Uh, no." So I was trying to get her excited and ended up getting tangled in the fence...NOT fun, lots of shocking :( Lol...Although what makes it funny is that Brandy had her ears up the whole time...The little turd was enjoying it!

Oh it's any stationary object that gets me... walls, doors, poles, chairs, gates, door jams... and pretty much anything else!

And I do believe that horses (and cows) love watching us beating up ourselves! LOL!
